Longtime NBA reporter Adrian Wojnarowski shockingly announced that he is retiring from ESPN as the shop’s insider on Wednesday morning.
The man known to everyone as ‘Woj’ is stepping down to become the general manager of the St. Louis men’s basketball program. Bonaventure.
The 55-year-old dropped her latest bombshell on Woj with the news and explained how she was “no longer driven” to invest in her role and wanted to spend her time in “more meaningful ways.”

ESPN’s NFL insider, Adam Schefter, shared details on how difficult the job Woj has been doing since 2007 ESPN indeed.
“He wanted his life back. He didn’t want to work on holidays. “He didn’t want to be away from other family gatherings,” Schefter said NBA Today.
“He didn’t want to, like we had to do in the past, wash your phone towards the shower door to see the incoming text, or take your phone with you to urinate. hold it with one hand while you take care of your business with the other. That’s the life we live. And that was the life he chose not to do anymore because it takes your life.
“You can’t do this job,” he continued. “You have to live the work and he had finished the work. He wants to live his life working for the school and giving back to the young athletes.”
The decision to step down from his role at ESPN means the insider will be leaving a $20 million payday, Athletic he says.
