Eddie Hearn says it’s a “bad feeling” for Terence Crawford when he faces undefeated WBA junior middleweight champion Israel Madrimov on August 3.
Matchroom promoter Hearn says Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) has never been hit as hard as Madrimov (10-0-1, 7 KOs) and doubts he will. held under that kind of fireworks when they met at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.
Crawford has only faced one major player in his career and that was Egidijus ‘Mean Machine’ Kavaliauskas, and he knocked him out in the fifth round of that fight. That guy is nowhere near the puncher Madrimov, and he doesn’t have his boxing skills.

What Hearn attributes to unemployment, age, and inexperience at 154 is Crawford. Instead of getting fights under his belt before challenging for the junior middleweight world title, Crawford is going straight to the top, fighting the best and hardest puncher in the division.
He jumps headfirst into champion Madrimov, and is just asking for trouble. Crawford has only been fighting once a year since 2020, and he’s not young at 36. He’s no longer a spring chicken, and he’s still part-time.
Some believe that Crawford is drunk on his success from his previous victories against younger fighters. Now he thinks he can walk on water.

He’s fighting the greatest boxer he’s ever faced on August 3,” promoter Eddie Hearn told Fight Hub TV about Terence Crawford challenging WBA junior middleweight champion Israel Madrimov in Los Angeles on August 3.
“People send me things about where the ‘Mean Machine’ came from [Egidijus Kavaliauskas] and all this kind of stuff. I’m telling you, if Crawford gets punched in the chin by Israel Madrimov, he’ll know for sure.
“We’ll see what happens, but I had a sneaky feeling about my boy on August 3. I think it’s a really tough fight. So, I think whatever plans Terence Crawford has, he should just put on ice until August 4th.
“He said to Jaron in New York, I would like to fight. I’m sure he would love to do Crawford to Canelo,” Hearn said of the Honorable Turki Alalshikh wanting a fight between Crawford and Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis.
