How far Scottie Scheffler reaches with each club

In 2024 Scottie Scheffler was a golfing machine, winning seven times on the PGA Tour including his second Masters Green Jacket in three years.

This 28-year-old player (that I know) also won the Tour Championship, The Players, Arnold Palmer, RBC Heritage, Memorial and The Travelers and there was Olympic gold to add to the CV.

Even after Xander Schauffele’s season with two giants, Scheffler is still more than six points ahead of his countryman in the world rankings and eight points ahead of Rory McIlroy.

And, while the swing remains the same, the clubs do as well.

While other players would dip, Scheffler stuck to the same bag setup throughout, all of which helped him record the lowest scoring average (68.0) in PGA Tour history.

Other eye-catching figures include..

– He was the first player to lead the statistics in Greens in Regulation (73%) and Putting Average (1.69)

– 1st in Scoring Average, SG: Total, SG: Approach, SG Tee to Green, Birdie Average, Par 4 and Par 5 Average

Overall, he led the PGA Tour in 40+ statistical majors.

Last season Scheffler led the Tour in SG: Off the Tee with the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus+ but this year he is even more accurate with his Qi10 driver.

Only Ludvig Aberg can better his Total Driving stats and, while he ‘only’ averages 303.8 yards (70th) off the tee, he is in even shorter range.

In Approach Play he clearly shines, scoring nearly half the second best player on Tour and leading in various wedge categories.

A neat comparison that shows his superior iron game is that Scheffler is just below (73 to 75%) Tiger Woods’ epic 2000 season – in which he won three of four Majors.

Everything in Scheffler’s bag is TaylorMade except for his two Srixon driving irons and Titleist Vokey wedges.

There is only one fairway wood in the bag, instead relying on the Srixon 3 and his 4 irons to cover anything from 226 to 245 yards.

On the green the American relies on a TaylorMade Spider Tour X L-Neck putter, which he switched to this year, and a Titleist Pro V1 ball.
