The second day of the Test match was a day to forget for India. After Rohit won the toss and elected to bat, India were bowled out for 46 runs, their lowest Test score at home. In reply, the New Zealand batsmen overwhelmed the Indian bowling attack, posting a mammoth total of 402. With India trailing by a significant margin, their chances of avoiding defeat against New Zealand were slim.
