India vs NZ – Rishabh Pant leaves the field after a knock on his right knee

The injury occurred in the 37th over of New Zealand’s innings, when Pant missed a chance to play against Devon Conway to Ravindra Jadeja and was hit on the knee after failing to collect the ball. He left the field immediately and his place was taken by Dhruv Jurel.

“Unfortunately, the ball hit the cap on the knee, the same leg he had surgery on. So it’s a bit swollen,” said Rohit after playing in Bengaluru. “And you know the muscles are soft at this point, so it’s a precautionary measure. We don’t want to take any risks. Rishabh doesn’t want to take any risks because he’s had a lot of surgery for that. The leg was the reason he came in, hopefully he’ll recover and we’ll see him back on the pitch tomorrow.

After suffering a career-threatening injury in a car collision, Pant returned only in IPL 2024.
