Reflecting on the season, Rahul expressed his disappointment with LSG’s performance, noting that despite starting the season with a strong and cohesive team, injuries and a lack of cohesive play hindered their success. He admitted that although their last game showed the level of performance, which they aimed to do throughout the season, they could not achieve this level.

“It’s very disappointing. At the start of the season, I really felt we had a strong team and had a lot of bases covered. Minor injuries – occur in all groups. We didn’t play well enough together. Today was really good. This is the kind of game we wanted to play the most. Unfortunately we didn’t do that,” Rahul explained.

Despite the overall disappointment, Rahul praised the hard work and development of the Indian pacers at LSG, praising the franchise’s investment in their training.

“Of course they are happy. The franchise has invested a lot of time and energy with it. It’s not just two months of the year. We sent Mayank and Yudhvir to South Africa to train with Morne Morkel. Their hard work has paid off, but the franchise and the team have worked hard with them,” Rahul added.
