With Gill’s reduced salary allowing for this tactic, Rashid will likely be expected to be the team’s most expensive retention, while Gujarat now have enough money to bid aggressively at the auction. Teams can retain up to six players using the right-to-match (RTM) option if needed, allowing GT to hold on to talent while building on the depth and versatility of their squad.
