Isaya Thomas Said Child Pulled AK-47 On Post Office Since It Was Removed
Isaiah Thomas says a “little kid” pulled an AK-47 on him and his friends and that he’s lucky to be alive.
Thomas said he believes the only reason the gunman stopped shooting is because he saw him during his NBA playing days.
The two-time All-Star explained the incident on X (formerly Twitter), but has since deleted the post.
“Surely trippin how these little kids go!!!” he wrote.
“I had a life changing moment yesterday when a kid pulled out an AK47 and if it wasn’t for who I am and seeing me in my hometown he would have killed us all. SAFE in the scary world we live in, stay safe there. “
Thomas has always been a beloved figure in basketball circles, beyond his early playing years.
He is still best remembered for his heroics with the Boston Celtics and his ability to dominate the end of the court, despite being the youngest player on the court.
The 35-year-old returned to the NBA this season after being a free agent through the 2022-23 season.
He played for the Salt Lake City Stars in the NBA G League, before being offered a chance with the Phoenix Suns.
He played just 19 minutes for the Suns in 6 regular season games, and 4 minutes in one playoff game.
