Jonathan Tah as interested as de Light speaks
It is clear that Matthijs de Ligt is the preferred defense for Man United in 2024/25, however, at the moment, there is no agreement with Bayern Munich.
The Dutchman is believed to have agreed terms with the Old Trafford club and is reportedly keen to reunite with his old Ajax boss, Erik ten Hag.
Jonathan Tah could be another Matthijs de Ligt at Man United
Until there is a club-to-club agreement, the move will remain at a standstill.
Perhaps with that in mind, according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany, the Red Devils have inquired about Bayer Leverkusen’s German player, Jonathan Tah.

ManUtd knows the truth, that there is no agreement between Bayern and Leverkusen.

Tah is thought to be the player Bayern will consider as de Ligt’s replacement if the Dutchman moves to Old Trafford, however, there could be a lot of twists and turns in the story at this point.
At 6ft 4in, Tah is an absolute monster at the heart of the Leverkusen and German national team defence, and will present a huge obstacle to opposition strikers.
Although he may seem second best to De Ligt, at 28 years old, he is experienced and capable of breaking into United’s defense when needed.
It is clear that he wants to move away from Leverkusen, although it is not known how difficult Xabi Alonso will make things for the player to move forward.
After an unbeaten league season in 2023/24, a campaign in which victory in the UEFA Europa League final would have seen the club win an unbeaten treble, Tah’s importance to his current club is clear.
Equally, there is no benefit in keeping a player who sees his future elsewhere, but letting him walk out the exit door at the first opportunity is also unlikely.
Until Bayern can secure his services, de Ligt is unlikely to go anywhere, and it is likely that Tah will end up pulling on the red shirt next season.
