Joselu sends cruel message to former Real Madrid team-mate over Euro 2024 clash

Joselu bravely revealed his intention to “retire” Real Madrid team-mate Toni Kroos on Friday night ahead of the highly-anticipated Euro 2024 clash between Spain and Germany.

Kroos has already turned his back on club football – his last game was in the Champions League in Madrid last month – and will hang up all his caps after this tournament. Now that the knockouts are in place, the modern day icon is only 90 minutes away from the end.

“We hope it’s his last game,” said Joselu as he prepared. “It is a special game because of his presence here [special because it’s] quarter-final with the main team.

“We hope that Toni will retire on Friday. He was my friend. I have spoken to him a lot and he has given me a lot of advice. He is important in Germany and he was at Real Madrid. We have to be careful with him on Friday.

“It is very important for us to win, to qualify [for the semi-finals]. As for Toni, we have to believe in ourselves. We don’t care about the other team’s players. I think Friday will be Toni’s last game.”

Joselu played with Kroos last season as Los Blancos won La Liga and the Champions League.

The Spaniard will aim to add more silverware to his cabinet with Qatar’s Al Gharafa next season after opting for a permanent move to the Bernabeu, despite Madrid’s desire to do so.

Whoever wins in Germany or Spain will face France or Portugal in the Euros.
