Koopmeiners bids depend on the sale of Huijsen

It seems to have been clear for a while now that Thiago Motta’s signing for Juventus is Atalanta’s brilliant Dutch midfielder, Teun Koopmeiners.

Football Italia is one of the many outlets touting the possibility of any deal, although pre-season has already started for many European clubs, the Bianconeri are yet to sign the 26-year-old.

The reason for that is simple. Juve cannot afford to pay a player without first selling other players, and they are having a hard time doing that.

Teun Koopmeiners isn’t going anywhere yet

According to Tuttosport, the Serie A giants are trying to offload Matias Soule, and both West Ham and Leicester City have made bids for the Argentine talent.

However, their bids of €25m (+€5m in add-ons), similar to those of Roma who are the player’s favorites for a new place to play, all fell short of Juve’s €35m price tag.

It would appear to be the same story regarding Dean Huijsen.

Teun Koopmeiners is wanted by Juventus

Tuttosport notes that there are eight clubs interested in the 19-year-old centre-back; Liverpool, Newcastle, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Stuttgart.

None of them are willing to meet Juve’s €30 million price tag, putting the Koopmeiners deal at risk of falling through.

It is understood that the ‘Old Lady’ of Serie A has agreed personal terms with the Koopmeiners, but the deal will fall through unless they perhaps consider lowering their demands.

What Juve doesn’t want to happen is for the player to hold on to himself in the hope that he will come back to call again, but he gets to the point where he doesn’t believe that the trade will happen and then he pulls himself down the drain.

So, the ball is very big in Juve’s stadium, with Liverpool being one of those clubs that could turn on the current chaos.
