This week the PGA Tour has another Signature Event on tap, the 2024 Memorial Tournament, and we’re picking the player who lost in last year’s final at Muirfield Village. Here are our long-standing picks, Memorial odds, betting favorites and everything else you need to know.

Memorial odds: A long bet

For this week’s Signature Event in Ohio, which features a $20 million purse, we pick Denny McCarthy as our long game with odds of +6600 to win.

There is one big reason for our pick: McCarthy almost won the 2023 Memorial, but surrendered in the playoffs to Viktor Hovland.

But that’s not his only strong past performance at Muirfield Village. He also finished T5 at the 2022 Memorial, which means he has the best of five players at the famous course.

Somehow McCarthy has never won a PGA Tour event, but he came close again this year. He lost in a playoff at the Valero Texas Open in April and then finished T6 at the Wells Fargo Championship in May.

If you bet $10 on McCarthy to avenge last year’s loss and he does, you’ll win $660. For insurance, consider placing an extra small bet on McCarthy for top 10 and top 20 finishes.

Looking for a long bet on the Memorial Tournament? This week’s honorees are Shane Lowry (+5000) and Brian Harman (+6600).

Scottie Scheffler is back at work this week, and surprisingly the World No. 1 comes first with odds to win at +350.

World No. 2 Rory McIlroy comes in second with +850 odds-to-win, closely followed by PGA champion Xander Schauffele (+900)
