Lauri Markkanen will sign a major extension with the Utah Jazz, despite strong interest from other NBA teams.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Tony Jones, and Anthony Slater have reported that the All-Star forward is expected to sign a major long-term contract.
The deal will make Markkanen ineligible for sale through the 2024-25 season. The extension, which is expected to be worth more than $200 million over five years, will keep Markkanen under contract until 2029.
