Leading Chinese artist to exhibit golf course paintings in London – Golf News
Golfers who appreciate fine art should put a date in the diary to visit the London Golf Course Oil Painting Exhibition in June.
Chinese artist Hudson Shaoxia Zhang has been a fan of golf for more than three decades, alongside his major role as a professor of art history, and for the past six years he has dedicated himself to capturing the world’s golf scene through painting and drawing, combining the twin passions of golf and art to create a unique and unparalleled body of work. .
With Zhang’s unique ideas and techniques, guests are transported to world-famous golf courses, from China’s Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Golf Club to California’s Cypress Point Club, New Jersey’s exclusive Pine Valley Golf Club and the lowland Forest of Arden in Warwickshire.
As a professor of art history, Zhang’s aerial scenes evoke landscape paintings similar to the works of Jean-Baptiste Corot and David Hockney, who revisited similar subjects. Ultimately, Zhang’s golf course landscapes are dreamscapes – blooming, diverse, and painted with unwavering passion.
The Hudson Shaoxia Zhang Solo exhibition is held at The Beveridge Hall, Senate House, University of London, with a media preview on June 13 and a public viewing on June 14-15.
