Leicester City could face a penalty for a record points haul

Due to their profit and sustainability problems, Leicester City could lose 15 points next season.

The Foxes are in for a challenging summer after finishing top of the Championship and receiving a pay rise.

The Foxes, led by Enzo Maresca, managed to win the Championship title in a classy fashion, despite being relegated from the Premier League a year ago.

The Telegraph says the penalty can be six to fifteen points.

Although a penalty of 15 points is unlikely, SunSport said that 10 points would be a Premier League record.

It was clear the club would struggle to stay within the maximum allowed clubs when it revealed a loss of less than £90 million earlier this year.

Leicester were charged in March with breaching the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Regulations for the three years ending in 2022-2023.

Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca could leave the club to join Chelsea.

Leicester will not spend money this summer, and it is still possible that they will need to raise money at the end of June to avoid breaking the rules again.

Last season, Everton and Nottingham Forest both received eight and four points, respectively, for PSR infringements.

Leicester City may lose their management to Chelsea

In another development for the Foxes, their manager Enzo Maresca, who guided them to promotion to the Premier League, is set to become the new manager of Chelsea.

Sky Sports have reported that Leicester City have given Chelsea permission to speak with their manager.

Judging by how negotiations are progressing, Maresca will be Chelsea’s new manager soon.
