His impressive career at Manchester United saw him make 455 appearances and win numerous trophies, including six Premier League titles, three League Cups and the Champions League.

During the preparations for the final of the Champions League, Ferdinand was tested by a lie detector, organized by the quiz master Joel Beya.

During the test, Ferdinand was asked if he believed that Virgil van Dijk was a better player than him.

Beya asked the question directly: “Virgil van Dijk, you look at him and think, he’s better than me, you know?”

Ferdinand’s immediate response was a confident “No”. However, the lie detector results told a different story.

As his answer was being analyzed, the person monitoring the machine hit the ground with his thumb, indicating that Ferdinand’s answer was incorrect. This was also confirmed by the sound of a false voice.

Ferdinand laughed at the result, exclaiming “no way” in disbelief.
