Live Results of Tank Davis Vs. Frank Martin Tonight On PBC On Prime Video Pay-Per-View

Gervonta ”Tank’ Davis returns to the ring to defend his second WBA 135-lb title against Frank Martin tonight in their 12-round title fight at PBC on Prime Video PPV. The event starts at 8 p.m. ET.

He made his debut at 175, a former WBC super middleweight champion David Benavidez (29-0, 24 KOs) looked slow, sluggish, and weak, winning a 12-round wide decision Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-2, 16 KOs) to capture the WBC light heavyweight title. The scores were 116-112, 117-111 and 119-119-109.

Boxing News 24 has it 114-114. It didn’t come as much of a shock that the judges gave A-level boxer Benavidez a wide berth, as he’s the one who’s been tipped to be the next ‘Face of Boxing’, putting Gvozdyk in the spotlight. where he needed to dominate to have a chance to win.

It really should have been a draw, and Benavidez was lucky tonight to score because he was awful.

Benavidez was completely outclassed midway through the fight, losing to the 37-year-old Gvozdyk in the seventh round. At the beginning of the fight, Benavidez’s speed and combination of punches allowed him to dominate the slow WBC trainer, but his power was not there at all.

In the sixth, Benavidez looked tired and Gvozdyk was taken out of the box from that point on. With the win, Benavidez is now WBC bound to win the title against Artur Beterbiev and will face the winner of his undisputed rematch with Dmitry Bivol.

Upset, the former WBA champion Alberto Puello (23-0, 10 KOs) were previously undefeated Gary Antoine Russell (17-1, 17 KOs) via a 12-round split decision to capture the interim WBC 140-lb belt. The judges scored 118-109 for Russell, and 115-112, 114-113 for Puello.

Russell looked slow-footed and stationary, allowing Puello to get him out of the box with combinations and movement.

WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames (24-1, 18 KOs) lost Terrell Gausha (24-4-1, 12 KOs), winning 12 rounds by unanimous decision. The scores were 119-109, 118-110 and 118-110.

Adames fired a lot of powerful shots, getting the better of the action against the weaker Puncher Gausha. Most of the work came from Gausha, but it consisted mostly of jabs and weak shots that didn’t do much.

Super middleweight veteran Kyron Davis (18-3-1, 6 KOs) worked his way to a dubious ten-round decision win over the previously undefeated Elijah Garcia (16-1, 13 KOs).

The scores were 99-93, 97-93 for Kyrone, and 98-92 for Garcia. Boxing News 24 scored Garcia 98-92. Surprisingly, Kyrone won because he spent almost the entire fight tied to the ropes.

It was hard to see Kyrone winning more than one or two rounds in the fight because he was getting nailed with body shots from Garcia the entire contest. He seemed unable to fight in the center of the ring against a smaller, faster, and stronger fighter.

Kyrone fought like an old veteran, unable to take the ring against a younger fighter, and it was shocking that the judges gave him the victory by such a wide margin.

The 21-year-old Garcia worked over PBC fighter Kyrone throughout the fight, keeping him on the ropes, hitting him with non-stop body punches, and seemingly taking a beating.

In the ninth and tenth, Garcia began to hunt for the head, nailing the 29-year-old Kyrone with powerful shots to dominate the action.

Benavidez Targets Heavyweight Title

The feature clash between David Benavidez and Oleksandr Gvozdyk is more of a draw than a main event.

Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs), who is confident in his skills and isn’t afraid to let people know about them, moves up to 175 for the first time to fight Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs) for the WBC interim light heavyweight title.

The winner of this fight will receive a huge amount of money to fight for the undisputed championship at 175, which may be in Saudi Arabia. That’s why Benavidez chose to move from 168.

Fans are interested to see how Tank Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) will do in his A-level debut against Frank Martin (18-0, 12 KOs). These guys are big punchers with a seek and destroy style about them.

Martin, 29, is coming back from an 11-month layoff, and looks like he’s gone to great lengths to make weight on Friday. He will have plenty of time to rehydrate before tonight’s title fight against Tank Davis.

If Davis is successful in this fight, he could be in for a unification fight with the IBF lightweight champion.
