Liverpool are allowing talented starlet Harvey Blair to leave for a fee
There has been some clarity at Liverpool this summer and the Reds are ready to sell another young talent as Harvey Blair is set to join Championship club Portsmouth.
After a difficult few years, Pompey have returned to England’s second tier and are looking to continue to strengthen their squad. Portsmouth manager John Mousinho has seen several free transfers added to his squad this summer and now the Liverpool youngster is on his way.
The Athletic report that Portsmouth are close to signing Harvey Blair from the Merseyside club as part of a £300,000 deal.
The 20-year-old has already agreed personal terms with Pompey and will soon undergo a trial.
Blair has been with Liverpool since 2015 when he joined the Reds’ academy suspension and Jurgen Klopp handed him his debut against Preston North End in the League Cup in October 2021.
The striker featured in all three games of Liverpool’s pre-season tour of America this summer but with the talent Arne Slot has already selected in his attacking line, the youngster would not get many minutes in the 2024/25 campaign.
Liverpool’s exodus of young talent continues
Blair is one of many young talents to leave Liverpool this summer as Arne Slot leaves the club he inherited from Klopp.
Calvin Ramsay and Rhys Williams left the Premier League side on loan this season, while Fabio Carvalho, Bobby Clark and soon, Sepp van den Berg parted ways with Merseyside permanently.
Blair is set to join the list as a new era at Liverpool has begun under their new structure and coach.
