Liverpool are dealing with injury concerns ahead of the big game against Man United

Liverpool will face their biggest rivals Manchester United next in the Premier League.

The Reds have made a good start to the new season after winning both of their games and not conceding a single goal.

New manager Arne Slot’s time at the club has started well as the Merseyside side look stronger than last season.

They still have a long way to go but the early signs under the Dutch manager have been positive.

Liverpool will face Manchester United in the next match at Old Trafford.

The Reds are facing injury concerns as midfielder Curtis Jones faces a race against time to be fit for the big clash, as revealed by Slot.

He has a minor muscle problem in training which is why he missed out on being part of the squad to face Brentford at Anfield.

“It will be close,” Slot said, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.

“It’s always difficult to see how the injury develops over the next week.”

Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones is doubtful for the game against Man United.

“He won’t be out for a long time, but he will be there next week.” But I am sure he will try to do everything to be ready for next week. It’s not a serious injury.”

Jones will be sorely missed by the Reds if he fails to be fit for the game against Man United.

Liverpool’s midfield has done well this season

Slot has plenty of other options, and aside from Jones, his middle linebacker has done well so far.

Ryan Gravenberch has had a key role so far and is a sure-fire starter under the new manager.

Slot wanted to sign a new number 6 and had identified Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi as his target but Liverpool’s failure to sign him worked for Gravenberch, who has become a key member of the starting line-up.

The game at Old Trafford will be very difficult as Man United will be hoping to bounce back from their defeat against Brighton in the last game.
