Liverpool moved on from Ruben Amorim because of his preferred formation

Arne Slot will take over from Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool in the 2024/25 campaign but Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim is likely if the Portuguese coach is willing to leave his beloved club.
Klopp announced in January that he would end his reign at the Reds after nine successful years at the end of the season and the early favorite for the job was Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso. However, the Spanish coach will continue to ensure that they remain Bundesliga champions for another season.
Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim was then considered a major contender for the Liverpool job but Football Insider reported that the main reason the Portuguese coach did not get the Anfield role was because of his 3-4-3 formation.
Liverpool are said to have held talks with the 39-year-old but felt that the Sporting boss was unwilling to leave his beloved club.
Klopp is currently using a 4-3-3 formation and the Anfield managers are looking for a manager who can get the most out of the existing squad.
Ruben Amorim’s pain is Arne Slot’s gain
Liverpool have found a replacement for Jurgen Klopp after agreeing terms with Feyenoord for Arne Slot last week. The Premier League giants will pay the Dutch club a compensation package of around £7.7m, plus £1.7m in add-ons, reports Sky Sports.
The 45-year-old uses a 4-2-3-1 formation which is 4-3-3 and the Slot teams also have the same characteristics as the current Liverpool under Klopp’s watch.
This will make the transition easier for the players of the Merseyside club, although they lose a large number in Klopp, his departure will have a big impact on Liverpool as a football club and city.
