Liverpool’s stadium is the most feared place in the Premier League, says Slot
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has said the club’s 140-year-old home at Anfield is a destination for opposition clubs to visit in England.
New Premier League player Slot joined Liverpool in June from Feyenoord, whose stadium De Kuip is known for having the best atmosphere in the Netherlands.
“I left a club where the fans were special,” the Dutchman told Liverpool’s website. “If you ask anyone in Holland which stadium they hate playing in the most, I think everyone – if you’re from another team – would answer De Kuip.
“And I think that in England, it’s the same at Anfield. Some teams don’t like playing at Anfield because of the fans and because of the way Liverpool play.”

Slot Feyenoord record
Feyenoord lost five of their 51 home league games during Slott’s three seasons in charge and went unbeaten in De Kuip’s first 16 games in Europe.
A 3-1 defeat by Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League ended last November before they were eliminated from the Europa League play-offs on penalties following the Italian side’s 1-1 draw.
The Rotterdam club had the best home defensive record in the Eredivisie last season and the third best at home.
Only runaway champions PSV Eindhoven reached their 42 points on the road, matching their home record of 13 wins, three draws and one loss.

Arne Slot: Liverpool record at home
Liverpool had the best home record in the Premier League in 2023/24, winning 15 and losing just one of their 19 games to go one point ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal in their place.
They scored 18 goals in five games at Anfield in the domestic cup competitions but lost 3-0 to Atalanta in the Europa League defeat which led to their exit from the competition.
Liverpool matches, schedule
Liverpool beat Sevilla 4-1 in the first leg of their slot at Anfield on Sunday and visit Ipswich Town on Saturday for their first Premier League game (12.30pm BST).
The game against promoted Tractor Boys will be 45-year-old Slot’s first as manager in England. Brentford are their first visitors on August 25 (4.30pm).
