Luiz expressed regret after leaving Aston Villa for Juventus
Former Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz has endured a difficult start for new club Juventus following his big summer transfer from Villa Park to Turin.
The Brazilian was a key player in Unai Emery’s squad and looked like a big loss when he was sold, but has made a surprisingly quiet start under Juve boss Thiago Motta.
It seems that Motta doesn’t have much faith in Luiz and prefers Weston McKennie in that role instead, so one imagines that Luiz must be starting to wonder if he made the right decision this summer.
The 26-year-old is ready for a top club like Juventus, and has been linked with Arsenal and other top European sides before the move.
Luiz would do well to look at his future soon if this continues, but it’s also possible that Motta is just a bit of a player.
The former Juventus striker, Aldo Serena, analyzed the situation and said: “I wish to see him stronger.
“For me, he is the type of player that Juventus needs now, they don’t have midfielders like that in their team. Thiago Motta has been ignoring him so far, but he may not be in the best shape yet.”
