This year’s PGA Championship is played at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky. – one of the best pioneers in the world, and where almost everything is done. Louisville is the only city in the world with more than 10 distillery experiences, a bourbon cocktail and culinary trail – and even bourbon-themed accommodations and shopping.

While sampling straight-up bourbon may not be for everyone, delicious cocktails made with bourbon abound. Among them: the venerable Old Fashioned, made with simple syrup, bitters and a touch of orange. It’s a classic cocktail, and it’s easier to make than you might think.

Chance Cozby, whose food-focused Instagram and TikTok accounts (@3piecesofpecan) boast a combined following of more than 1.3 million, recently demonstrated his simple recipe for making a delicious Old Fashioned at home.

Check out her recipe below, and for the full tutorial, you can watch the video above.

Ingredients:

– Bourbon
-Simple syrup
-Orange bitters
– A slice of orange
– Snow
– Cherry to decorate

In a lowball glass, start with a few squirts of simple syrup. Next, add a few dashes of bitters. Then, put an orange slice in the bottom of the glass and mix the orange pulp with the simple syrup and bitters.

“What mixing does is, it just brings out the flavors,” Cozby said. “This will enhance the flavor of that orange slice.”

After brushing, pour a few ounces of bourbon and top with ice. The final touch? Decorative cherry.

The result: A very delicious cocktail!
