Man City are close to a deal for Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund are growing confident of completing a deal with Manchester City for Brazil defender Yan Couto this week, sources close to the deal say. CaughtOffside.
Dortmund are pushing ahead with talks with Man City over a move for Couto for less than €30m, with the two clubs in advanced talks over a €20m deal.
Couto has agreed personal terms with Dortmund and the right-back’s agents asked them to approve the transfer during a meeting with Man City.
City directors have met with Pep Guardiola and suggested it would be the right decision to sell Couto in the summer transfer window, with the Spanish tactician also sanctioning the 22-year-old’s departure despite his excellent form on loan. City Group club Girona.
Couto is keen to join Borussia Dortmund, and has a deal in place with the club. He is set to compete with Julian Ryerson for a place in the BVB starting XI.
Some City fans may be disappointed to see a top talent like Couto leave the Etihad Stadium, but at the same time it will likely be difficult for him to break into the starting line-up anytime soon due to the presence of Kyle Walker.
