Man United are closing in on the first signing of the Sir Jim Ratcliffe era

After Joshua Zirkzee’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, turned down a pursuit from AC Milan, Manchester United are closing in on a £34 million move for the Bologna striker.

As Milan have started looking at other opportunities, Man United are reportedly close to signing Zirkzee, according to i Sport.

The Netherlands striker is currently not on international duty at Euro 2024 in Germany, and talks over his future are still going on behind closed doors.

This summer, Man United are reportedly planning to prioritize adding a striker to their squad over defenders and midfielders.

The Red Devils are considering a number of moves and are expected to be active in the transfer window.

Man United are eyeing a move for a number of strikers this summer but it looks like the Dutch striker is heading to Old Trafford which will be the club’s first signing since Sir Jim Ratcliffe took over.

The 23-year-old’s agent is rumored to have started negotiations and has agreed to demand less money from Man United than Milan due to his strong relationship with him.

Joshua Zirkzee to Man United?

First and foremost, the fates of Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof, and several others need to be resolved.

This potential sale paves the way for new acquisitions in the coming weeks.

Man United are in dire need of a new striker

Zirkzee’s £34 million release clause is ready to be activated by the Red Devils, which could prove to be very lucrative in the coming years.

He will be a much-needed addition to the squad as they only have one established striker in Rasmus Hojlund now after the departure of Anthony Martial this summer.

The striker is linked with many Italian clubs and Man United’s Premier League rivals Arsenal.

However, the Red Devils seem to have won the race for his signature now.
