Matheus Cunha reveals why he has no interest in Man Utd transfers

Matheus Cunha says he is more focused on winning with Wolves than passing to transfer Rumors linked him with a summer move to Manchester United.
Cunha joined Wolves on loan in the second half of the 2022/23 campaign and enjoyed a prolific goalscoring season, netting 12 goals in 32 Premier League appearances.
The Brazilian has reportedly been targeted by United, who have scouted him extensively as they look to compete for Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund, but Cunha has revealed he is not paying too much attention to the speculation and wants to continue helping his current club.
Whenever I can, I come. I always want to show that [the affection] it is returned,” he said Globo Esporte. “We see that statement [Manchester United]. But I’m very happy for Wolves.
“I’m focused on relaxing and making the most of my time with my family. I’m very happy at Wolves. Now I’m focused on having better seasons and helping the club.
“God willing, I will continue in this way.”
The Red Devils scored 57 goals in the Premier League this past season, which is in the ninth place from the top of the division along with Crystal Palace who have worse records than Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
Their prolific defense was also conceded 58 times, meaning they finished the campaign with the narrowest goal difference.
Hojlund and Bruno Fernandes finished 2023/24 as United’s top league scorers with ten each, while Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay chipped in with seven goals each.
There is speculation linking Portugal international Fernandes with a move away from Old Trafford this summer, with him reportedly seeking a pay rise and confirmation of the club’s long-term ambition under new owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS.
