Meerut Mavericks lifted the 2024 UP T20 title with a thrilling win over Kanpur Superstars

In the finals of Uttar Pradesh (UP) T20 2024Meerut Mavericks beat Kanpur Superstars by 5 wickets to win the title at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.

Sameer Rizvi and Shaurya Singh guided Kanpur Superstars to 190/5

After winning the toss, Meerut Mavericks elected to bowl first. Kanpur Superstars posted a total of 190 runs for 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Sameer Rizvi he was the best batsman, scoring 57 runs in 36 balls, and Shaurya Singh he scored a quick 56 runs off just 23 balls, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes. Shoaib Siddiqui and chipped in with a solid 35 runs off 31 balls.

Mavericks, Yash Garg he was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 47 runs in his 4 overs. Zeeshan Ansari again Vishal Chaudhary also took a wicket apiece, helping to contain the Superstars to a manageable score.

Swastik Chikara and Madhav Kaushik guided Meerut Mavericks to victory

Chasing 191 runs, Meerut Mavericks got off to a shaky start and lost Akshay Dubey for a duck. However, Swastik Chikara again Madhav Kaushik strengthened the innings with explosive batting. Chikara scored 62 runs from 31 balls, while Kaushik played an important knock of 69 not out from 43 balls, hitting 5 sixes and 2 fours.

Apart from a few wickets falling towards the end, Kaushik no Ritik Vats (20 not out) confirmed that Mavericks crossed the line with 196 runs for 5 wickets in 19.4 overs.
