Miracles have no power over Bruno Guimaraes

He has long been one of Newcastle United’s most important players, but the next few weeks could be crucial for Bruno Guimaraes’ future at St. James’ Park.

The Brazilian has been proving his worth to Eddie Howe and his team-mates with a string of impressive performances in the Magpies’ midfield.

Whether providing an added presence in attack, playing in separation or dropping back to assist his defenders, Guimaraes can be relied upon to give 100 percent every game.

Bruno Guimaraes’ release clause is still in effect

And yet, he could leave the club this summer and there will be nothing that Howe or the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) can do about it.

Despite their apparent wealth, no amount of money in the world will be able to keep this player in St. James’ Park if the team could come and call on him for his services in the next two days.

“The situation has not changed in Newcastle. They will try their best to keep their stars as Howe said,” said Fabrizio Romano to CaughtOffside when he spoke to his special Daily Briefing.

“For Bruno Guimaraes, there is a release clause and that’s it – Newcastle have no power until June 23, which is the day the clause will expire.

“For any other player, it’s quiet now but things depend on offers as usual.”

At the moment, luckily for anyone connected with the Magpies, no clubs seem to be moving forward to open talks with the Brazilian.

Considering his release clause is believed to be up to £100m, that could put off potential suitors, despite Guimaraes showing he’ll be worth every penny.

Release clauses now seem to be a common part of contract negotiations in the modern game, where agents clearly advise their clients on their inclusion, as long as it is considered that other opportunities may present themselves in the future and without a release clause, the player will be forced to remain firm, even if you are against his will.

Bruno Guimaraes is reportedly happy at Newcastle, so the next two weeks will be an interesting time indeed.
