Mitchell Marsh has hit a nerve for the T20 World Cup but admits he can’t afford a setback.

Two weeks later, the Capitals confirmed that he would miss the rest of the IPL after Marsh’s recovery from injury took longer than expected.
“The hammy is great, it’s coming along really well,” Marsh said. “It’s really good where we want it to be. It’s one of those things. You just have to fix it in the next three weeks and get on the plane.
“If we had to play tomorrow, I’d be in trouble. It’s still a few weeks away, and time always prevents any obstacles.”
“Whenever there is a World Cup squad, it’s only 15 and some guys have to miss out,” said Marsh. “But I think we have a really good team that we have chosen, we have a lot of flexibility, a lot of experience. And that brings a lot of excitement.”
Australia is holding two separate training camps in Brisbane over the next two weeks for non-IPL players. Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa, Ashton Agar, Josh Inglis and Marsh will head there to find the nets and get fit before heading to the Caribbean. Marsh is a possibility in both camps, but he may be on a bit of a roll in the former. Others who were missed by the team but could be considered for vacation spots, including Xavier Bartlett and Spencer Johnson, are also likely to participate. Bartlett and Johnson will head to England for the T20 Blast at the end of May.
“It still hurts,” Bailey said Wednesday. “So obviously we’ll keep an eye on that. Hopefully he can come back and play a few games in the IPL to finish, but I think it’s one of those, deep bone injuries and it’s going to take a little bit of time.
“But I don’t think anyone will be able to give him a definite answer as to how long it will be.”
“It’s been a while since we’ve talked, haven’t we Davey?” Marsh said. “We always enjoy having him on the team. Just the experience he brings. I think when we look back at his career. There are a lot of big moments where you need your experienced players to step up and Davey has always been one of those. So we’re lucky to have him.”
