NBA Twitter reacts to Mavs vs. OKC: ‘PJ Washington Happened’

Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks outlasted the Oklahoma Thunder 119-110 in Game 2 and tied the series at 1-1.
Doncic was brought to the Mavs, he put up 29 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. PJ Washington was the game changer as he finished the game with 29 points and seven threes. From being popular, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander he flirted with a triple-double (33 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists), but it wasn’t enough.
Here’s how NBA Twitter reacted to the Mavs’ Game 2 win.
Kyrie Irving only had 9 points but he was entertaining tonight. Delivering in every other way. 11 assists, 2 blocks, 2 steals. A big time difference maker on and off the ball. Set the tone for the Mavericks. pic.twitter.com/3688a7QiNO

The mavericks defense always does this when they decide the other team is scoreless for four minutes. have at least three of those times in the evening. and when I mean “it’s not” I mean it literally. Like zero or one field goal allowed in those segments.

MAVERICKS IN 6.
Popularity is not.

We should have lost a playoff game at one point, and we just fell out of it all night despite some crazy shooting from the Mavericks.
Everything is fine, we will be fine

“I think that was one of the hardest games I’ve had to play. I fight over there. I try to do everything possible to help the team win. It’s just my idea to start well and then the team will follow me.”

The most games in NBA playoff history with
25+ PTS • 5+ REB • 5+ AST • 5+ 3PM:34 – Steph Curry (147 GP)
10 – James Harden (166 GP)
9 — Luka Doncic (36 GP) pic.twitter.com/spSuLcbafW– StatMamba (@StatMamba) May 10, 2024
Luka Doncic talked about using an on-court fan as an inspiration, who commented on his family. He called it “nuts” so the “grown ass” would say that.

I don’t think anyone is saying the Crescent Moon lost because of the refs. The Thunder lost because PJ Washington and Tim Hardway Jr. they became Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. A lot. The NBA. The Mavs were on fire.

I understand what the numbers say, he is not very popular with dallas, but it bothers me that PJ washington sometimes gets the tony allen treatment. he scored 43 points in a game in the last five months. he is a talented offensive player! I swear to him!
— Josh Bowe (@Boweman55) May 10, 2024
PJ Washington and Tim Hardaway Jr combined for 46 points and shot 9-15 from 3.
The Mavs shot 18-37 from 3.
OKC shot 10-30 from 3.
That was the story of the game.

If PJ Washington is Steph Curry for the rest of the series, we’re screwed.
– George Stoia III (@GeorgeStoia) May 10, 2024
PJ Washington tonight:
29 PTS
11 REB
7-11 3PFirst player with 10+ REB and 7+ 3P in a playoff game since Steph in the finals.
– StatMuse (@statmuse) May 10, 2024
PJ Washington is everything I hoped he would be in a winning situation.
– Kevin O’Connor (@KevinOConnorNBA) May 10, 2024
So far the obvious difference is PJWashington’s 7 threes.

PJ Washington.
Tim Hardaway Jr.
Josh Green.
