During a season in which he has already won six times, you would think that the World No. 1 Nelly Korda was hesitant to change from whatever was working.

But golfers, as we know, are a fickle bunch. Korda is no different: his seventh win for yesr this past week at The Annika was the first time with a new putter.

While Korda became the third player in LPGA history to win five straight earlier this season, including a major at the Chevron Championship, she has struggled over the summer, missing three straight cuts, including both the US Women’s Open and the KPMG Women’s. The PGA Championship.

She finished just outside the top 20 in her two starts, but before the AIG Women’s Open, she asked TaylorMade representatives to send her a few Spider models to test. Korda ended up asking the TaylorMade team to build him a new Spider Tour X with an L-neck and shorter sight line and send it to St. Andrews just before the practice round.

That has been Korda’s best run since, as he tied for second in St. Andrews after benching the Scotty Cameron Squareback 2, the same model he used to win both of his major titles. He then went 3-1-0 at the Solheim Cup and earned another top 5 finish at the Kroger Queen City Championship. But those were the only three occasions Korda used the new flatstick as he missed nearly two months with a neck injury.

This week at the Pelican, having become the first American to win seven or more times in a season on the LPGA since 1990, the Spider Tour X was the only gear he changed in his last win in New Jersey in May.

While Korda’s short sightline version is a tour-only offering (but still available through TaylorMade’s MySpider program), the TaylorMade Spider Tour X L-Neck is available now at Fairway Jockey.

The Korda putter includes all the same technology as the product such as the True Path alignment system, designed to help you visualize the line to the hole. The Spider Tour X also sports TaylorMade’s TPU Pure Roll insert, which has been a staple of their putter models for years. The commercial version is white, while the Korda version is black.

And as if Korda needed another comparison to Scottie Scheffler’s outstanding PGA Tour season (he also won seven times, in case you forgot), his new flatstick is an exact match head and neck like that World No. 1 of the men he was transferred to before him. a torrid run.
