The San Jose Sharks added two to their coaching staff
Sheng Peng: The San Jose Sharks named Doug Houda and Jeff Ulmer assistant coaches.
The Seattle Kraken are hiring the NHL’s first female assistant coach
Bob Condor of NHL.com: Jessica Campbell will be the first woman to be behind the bench of an NHL team as she has been appointed as an assistant coach, along with Bob Woods, of the Seattle Kraken.
“Jessica and I spent the last two years coaching in the Coachella Valley,” Bylsma said. “I am confident in what he can do for our staff and bring it to the players. I’ve seen him form strong relationships with people like Tye Kartye, Shane Wright and Ryker Evans. He has the ability to communicate with players about their performances and what they bring to the team.
He has shown that in the last two seasons, not only with Tye Kartye and others, but John Hayden and Max McCormick, among others. That’s why he’s such a likable person and why he’s joining our staff.”
A few injury notes for the New Jersey Devils
Kristy Flannery: New Jersey Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald said defenseman Dougie Hamilton is back to 100 percent as expected. Forwards Jack Hughes and Timo Meier are on track to be ready for the start of training camp.
The Ottawa Senators and the Utah Hockey Club made a trade
Ottawa Senators: The Ottawa Senators traded forward Egor Sokolov to the Utah Hockey Club for Jan Jenik.
“Jan is a versatile and talented striker,” said Staios. “He can play in the middle and on the wing, he is strong and shows aggression.”
The Anaheim Ducks and Detroit Red Wings made a trade
Frank Seravalli: The Detroit Red Wings traded forward Robby Fabbri and a conditional 2025 fourth-round pick to the Anaheim Ducks for goaltender Gage Alexander.
The condition on the pick is that the Ducks get first the Red Wings or the Boston Bruins pick.
Cap Friendly: The Ducks are now on top of next season’s salary cap.

Florida Panthers lock up Anton Lundell
Elliotte Friedman: The Florida Panthers signed forward Anton Lundell to a six-year, $30 million contract – a $5 million increase.
Jameson Olive: 22-year-old Lundell:
- 112 points in 216 regular season games
- 28 points in 54 playoff games
- 5 assists in the 2024 Stanley Cup Final
- 54.9% in the faceoff circle in 2023-24
