Tyler Yaremchuk: “I want to ask you, today in the DFO article you made a comment about Martin Necas and maybe Carolina was encouraged to remove him soon.”
Seravalli: “Yes, I don’t know if encouraging phrase is the right word, but I can say that I will not be shocked to see him move on Saturday.
NHL Rumors: Will Scouting Make News This Week?
I think you’re going to see some chaos this week before the Cup final kicks off. There have been many groups excited to try to get their hands on Marty Necas. I don’t, I can’t imagine a way for him to go back to Carolina,
I think Vancouver, Calgary, Columbus, are at least three teams that I pay attention to when it comes to the Necas front and he was the hottest property in the league. I will say that.”
There are no official discussions between the Philadelphia Flyers and Travis Konecny
Anthony Di Marco of the Fourth Period: Philadelphia Flyers forward Travis Konecny has a year left on his contract and there have been some talks between the parties about an extension, but nothing is official yet.
Agent Pat Morris may want a bigger contract for Konecny, with one source saying they may want an eight-year deal worth $10 million-plus. Players always start at the top, and teams always start at the bottom. The Flyers might consider $8 to $8.5 million.
Timo Meier’s $8.8 million contract can be used as a comparable, while Konecny is likely higher as the cap is rising now. The only difference is that Meier was turning 27 and Konecny will be 28 and a half years old when his contract starts.
Currently, Konecny is their top right winger, but if Matvei Michkov arrives and establishes himself, he will be their top right winger.
NHL Rumors: Capitals, Flames, Lightning, Canadiens, Jets, Kings, Flyers, Oilers, and more
It does not appear that there will be any problems in the negotiations and that the agreement should finally be done. Something in the $9 million range is reasonable.
