NHL Rumors: New York Rangers, and Pittsburgh Penguins

It will be tough at first for Jacob Trouba but he will be fine, and don’t worry about the Igor Shesterkin extension.

Dan Rosen of NHL.com: (mailbag) Jacob Trouba will likely land on the third pairing on the New York Rangers blue line unless he can get traded before the season starts. He’s a professional player and not a first-timer, so even though things may be awkward at first, he’ll play hard.

There will be many questions for him, his teammates, and the management when the camp opens. It has to do with the business of Rangers and not because of the player. If Trouba can handle it, it shouldn’t be a problem, but if he can’t, Rangers will have problems.

NHL Rumors: Mitch Marner Will Get A Promotion But Will It Be In Toronto?

It would be shocking to see the New York Rangers unable to extend Igor Shesterkin and decide to trade him. He has a year left on his contract and will be signed. He is arguably the best goalie in the league, he is only 28 years old, and he will be the highest paid goalie in the league.

Nothing is happening with Tristan Jarry

Dan Kingerski of Pittsburgh Hockey Now: There are no current/reliable reports of Tristan Jarry trade rumors. He has four years left on his contract at $5.375 million each.

Penguins guard prospect Joel Blomqvist should be ready for the NHL at some point this season. Sergei Murashov could be in the AHL if he leaves Russia.

Injuries and inconsistency have plagued Jarry over the past few years. Until the end of February last year, Jarry kept the Penguins in the games, but after that, he and the team struggled.

Three possible scenarios involving Jarry.

Jarry is playing well this year, the Penguins are holding on to him, and are looking to trade Alex Nedeljkovic if they feel Blomqvist is ready.

The Penguins are out of the playoff race and teams are coming in to call in offers at the trade deadline. The Penguins went with Nedeljkovic and Blomqvist.

Can the Ottawa Senators Get the Perfect Mesh on the Ice This Season?

The Penguins are in the playoff race at the deadline and make any decisions until the end of the season and hang on to Jarry and Nedeljkovic.
