NHL Rumors: Sidney Crosby, Lucas Raymond, and Brad Marchand
Can Sidney Crosby reverse the money?
Dan Kingerski: “As some of you asked–the “Salary Deferral” trending in the NHL does not affect 35+ contracts. So, yes, the Penguins could pay Sidney Crosby a truckload and defer a portion, thereby saving that money without using the 35+ rule.”
Lucas Raymond wants big money from the Detroit Red WingsL
Bob Duff of Detroit Hockey Now: Detroit Red Wings training camp is two weeks away and they have RFAs left to re-sign, including forward Lucas Raymond.

Not much has been leaked about the talks this off-season, but Raymond’s agent Peter Werner told Expressen that “Today there is no equal offer.” Red Wings VP of Hockey Ops Nicklas Lidstrom told Expressen that they are talking “big money.”
Estimates have Raymond at around $7.5 million on a long-term deal. After his career high of 31 goals and 72 points, it’s no wonder he’s looking for something bigger.
Defenseman Moritz Seider and forward Jonathan Berggren are the other two RFAs for the Wings.
Brad Marchand will not discuss his contract status with the media
The fourth season: Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand is entering the final year of his contract and will undergo three offseason surgeries. His offseason training began two weeks ago. The 36-year-old will carry a $6.125 million cap hit and was asked if contract negotiations have begun.
“I just want to say this now and leave it at that,” Marchand said. “I will not talk about contract matters in the media. I saw a report the other day. I don’t know where (the reporter) gets his information, but it wasn’t from our side. We won’t talk about it. Anything that goes on will stay between (General Manager Don Sweeney) and our team and we’ll leave it at that. I think there’s enough respect between both sides to deal with it, and we’ll leave it at that.”
NHL rumors: Milan Lucic, Max Pacioretty, and Calen Addison
Marchand hopes to finish his Bruin career.
