“Steve Yzerman made an interesting comment the other day. He said he is in the market for a goalkeeper, he doesn’t want someone who will be there for a while.
There’s John Gibson from Anaheim, but I’ve also heard that the Ducks don’t want to keep money on Gibson, making any trade for him difficult.
And there are teams looking for 1B’s as backups. Stolarz here from Florida is great. Laurent Brossoit. Toronto has been linked with him.
I think so, but the interesting thing is, Tony is, I think for the top guys, like the Ullmark’s of the world (video clip before Ullmark was sold in Ottawa), now because New Jersey has their guy you know, there is, there’s a little market for other of things. LA found their boy. The market is small. So how much does the squeeze affect both the requested and the trading partners?

The Tampa Bay Lightning and Steven Stamkos remain in the status quo
It’s a week until the start of free agency, and Steven Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning don’t have an extension in place. Time is running out again before a top player hits the open market.
This was the situation that played out last night between Stamkos and the Lightning. We know that Nyazi wants to stay, and Stamkos wants to stay. Since the Lightning are against salary, they will need to move money to make it all work.
As TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun joined TSN Radio in Toronto and was asked about Steven Stamkos and staying with the Tampa Bay Lightning. LeBrun mentioned Stamkos’ name when talking about Connor McDavid.
