Friedman: “You know, Perfetti. It was, it was interesting. We talked about, I think a lot of agents and teams look at you and say (Shane) Pinto was, he was, he was, he was a comparable player.

NHL Rumors: Boston Bruins, and Philadelphia Flyers

It is not a comparable group. The team will probably want to avoid that. But Pinto was kind of a comparable agent, a comparable player, to Perfetti because they played the same number of games. They actually got the same amount of points, and he just got that two-year extension from Ottawa for five.

You know, the type the Jets have shown, they don’t see it the same way. And I get that, like, if I was a team and I didn’t like that contract, I’d say, No, no, we’re not going there, we’re doing this one.

One thing about Pinto is, I saw someone say that Pinto deserved to be settled. He wasn’t there. He did not reach the threshold of eligibility for arbitration. So you should put that away.

But I still understand what the team is trying to do here. I’m not sure everyone will see it the same way, but I understand why the Jets say that. They don’t like that Pinto contract. They don’t want to go there to get Perfetti. So their Point is, no, no, we don’t see things the same way. Again, there is still a gap, and we will see where this goes.
