Nottingham Forest snapped up the great goalkeeper Miguel

Nottingham Forest have signed goalkeeper Carlos Miguel from Corinth on a four-year contract.

The 25-year-old, who stands at 6ft 8in tall, made 14 appearances for Korinte last season and will compete with Matz Sels and Matt Turner for the starting shirt at the City Ground.

Miguel told the club’s website: “I am very happy and honored to represent this club.

“Seeing the pitch and feeling the energy inside it, I can’t wait to be on the pitch to help Nottingham Forest win.

“The Premier League is one of the most important leagues in the world.

“Everybody around the world watches the Premier League and Brazil is no different.

“I watch you sincerely, so I am very happy to be a part of it today.”

Miguel follows the same path as central defender Murillo, who swapped Corinthians for Forest last summer. Miguel admitted that he sought Murillo’s advice before taking action.

“Yes, the first information comes from Murillo,” he added.

“I asked him about the team and the city. I asked how the club works as it is very important to know everything in advance.

“He said good things and was happy about this club, which made me very happy.

“He had good things to say, I trust him and I believe this is my place.”
