Nottingham Forest to move for Ex-Spurs and Everton flop

Nottingham Forest are expected to make a late move for Villarreal striker Arnaut Danjuma, according to reports.

Forest have already invested heavily this summer, with the likes of Elliot Anderson, Nikola Milenkovic and Ramon Sosa arriving for big money and Alex Moreno signing on loan from Aston Villa.

But Nuno Espirito Santo is determined to continue to increase his attacking options in the final days of the transfer window, while Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is reportedly set to move to the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest will move to Danjuma

Forest’s attack seems unlikely to end with Nketiah’s capture.

According to Football Insider, the Midlands club will also be looking for Danjuma – a player he has admired for a long time.

Their report claims Villarreal are ‘ready’ to let the six-time Netherlands international leave this summer despite starting the season with two goals in their first two La Liga games.

The player may choose to leave permanently instead of going on loan as he wants to settle down in his career.

Danjuma endured a difficult few years in England, with loan spells back and forth with Tottenham and Everton failing to leave.

The 27-year-old managed to play only 12 games in the first, scoring two goals, and in the end he played 20 times – mostly off the bench – and scored two more goals.

But Danjuma has also been successful in England, with his 17 goals and eight assists in 37 games for Bournemouth in the 2020/21 campaign – while they were in the Championship – still memorable.
