NYCFC predicted to face San Jose Earthquakes

NYCFC will play the San Jose Earthquakes in a Major League Soccer midweek game on Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium.

The Boys in Blue have been on a tear in recent weeks as they secured their fourth straight MLS win with the most recent victory against the New England Revolution. In the big picture, NYCFC have managed to win seven of their last eight league games played under the guidance of coach Nick Cushing.

While many fans wanted Cushing to be axed early in the campaign, there are probably not many who are lamenting that he has lost his job now after his dramatic turnaround at the club. The team looks to be firing on all cylinders, and will look to keep the momentum going at home against a struggling San Jose team.

Here’s how NYCFC can handle earthquakes.

GK: Matt Freese – Freese continues to improve with each passing week in goal for the Blues.

RB: Tayvon Gray – The Jamaican has recorded one assist in his last two games as he has retained his place in the playing XI.

CB: Thiago Martins – NYCFC’s best defender leads the backline into action again. He has been crucial to their recent good run of form.

CB: Birk Risa – Risa partnered Martins in central defense after playing 90 minutes at the weekend.

LB: Kevin O’Toole – He remains the only left-back in the team and will make his 15th start this season.

DM: James Sands Sands is back in trouble after sitting out vs New England due to a collection of yellow cards.

DM: Keaton Parks – He managed to score one important goal in his victory over Mfu.

RM: Hannes Wolf – Even though the Austrian didn’t find another net in his last outing, he remains a constant threat on the right of any defence.

AM: Santiago Rodriguez – NYCFC’s creative zone will need to be on point for the Boys in Blue to continue their good run.

LM: Agustin Ojeda – After playing just 60 minutes last week, the young forward gets another chance to jump on Wednesday night.

ST: Monsef Bakrar – He was withdrawn from the Revs with 30 minutes left in normal time, so you can expect the Algeria International to raise his head again.
