CONCACAF Champions Cup winners Pachuca will face Toronto FC in the League Cup group stage match this weekend.
Pachuca will win 1-1 (5-4 on penalties) against MLS team New York Red Bulls in their first League Cup match of the summer. The Liga MX club have one foot in the door of the Round of 32 and will hope to get three points against Toronto to reach the knockout stage.
Toronto also defeated RBNY 0-0 (5-4 on penalties) in their first Le League Cup match this summer. With all three of the East Group 6 teams on two points and the Red Bulls having played two games, a draw in 90 minutes will be enough for Toronto and Pachuca to advance to the knockout stages but with a relegation at stake, both sides will try to settle the game within regulation.
