In the thrilling climax of the first test of Bangladesh tour of Pakistan 2024Bangladesh pulled off a stunning victory chasing a small target of 30 runs, winning by 10 wickets. The match, held at the Rawalpindi cricket stadium, saw Bangladesh record a historic win over Pakistan, marking their first Test victory against the home side.

With Pakistan’s top order batter, Babar Azamat the crease, a young Bangladeshi pacer Nahid Rana provided an important contribution. Rana’s perfect delivery, traveling at 146.4 km/h and hanging just outside the off-stump, lured Babar into the wrong drive. Unaware of the subtle internal nip, Babar held back the ball, which again crashed into the stumps, ending his innings on 22 runs from 50 balls with three boundaries.

The dismissal was a significant change, exacerbated by a missed catch by Litton Das at the start of the over that cost Bangladesh a crucial 22 runs.

Bangladesh’s historic Test win over Pakistan

Pakistan’s second innings collapsed as they were bowled out for 146 runs, leaving Bangladesh with a paltry score of 30 runs. Despite the heroic effort that appears Mohammad Rizwanwho top scored with 51 runs off 80 balls and earlier amassed 171 runs in the first innings of the match, the Pakistani batsmen failed to contribute much in the second innings.

Bangladesh’s bowlers, led by an impressive performance, who took four wickets at an impressive economy rate of 1.80, played a key role in dismantling Pakistan’s batting. Their modest bowling and efficiency ensured that Pakistan could not mount a challenge.

In a display of healthy batting, Bangladesh chased down the target of 30 runs without losing a wicket.
