Babar Azam sheds light on Pakistan’s defeat

In the post-match interview, Pakistan captain Babar Azam expressed his disappointment with the batting. “Beat us well. In batting, we lost back-to-back wickets and had too many dot balls. Our strategy was simple: play normally, keep the strike around, and get the odd boundary. But in that crucial period, we had too many balls,” he explained.

Despite the struggle in the middle order, Babar did not blame his teammates, stressing the responsibility of the top order batsmen. “We cannot expect much from fashion designers. Our strategy was to use the first overs to bat. But after losing by one wicket, we were not at the top of the first six. The field looked decent, the ball was going in well. It was a little slower, and some balls had more bounce. But now we have to win the last two games. We will always discuss our mistakes,” he added.

With this win, India have now topped Group A with two wins in two matches, ahead of USA. In contrast, Pakistan are facing a tough road with two consecutive defeats in their T20 World Cup campaign.
