Palace to sign Arsenal ace for £30m
Arsenal striker, Eddie Nketiah, is tipped to make a move to Crystal Palace if his £30million transfer fee is exceeded.
That’s according to Arsenal expert Charles Watts when he spoke to himself CaughtOffside in his latest Daily Briefing column, with the writer giving his latest knowledge and insight into Nketiah’s situation.
The 25-year-old has struggled to play at the Emirates Stadium in recent times, and an exit has been on the cards for some time, although he recently decided against the chance to join Nottingham Forest.
Watts now expects Nketiah to join Palace for £30m, and one thinks many Gooners will consider that a good sale for an unwanted back-up player, even though Watts has praised him and told him he is a good player for Palace.
Nketiah transfer: Watts on the Arsenal striker’s exit
“I would be very happy for Eddie Nketiah if the Crystal Palace deal goes through.” At the time of writing, it has not yet been completed, but it is expected that the move will go through, which will enable Arsenal to receive up to £30 million for the striker,” said Watts.
“It’s a good deal for Arsenal, but I also think it’s a good deal for Palace. I can see Nketiah doing good things when he settles down.
“Obviously a few days ago it looked like he was going to Nottingham Forest, but Naketiah decided that the move was not for him after the two clubs agreed on a fee.
“One of the reactions I saw to that decision was ridicule, although I really shouldn’t be surprised by what other people think is good to say on social media.
“The player has the right to decide where he goes. Apparently, Nketiah didn’t think Forest was a good fit and wanted to continue with Palace, who have been interested in him for a long time.
“If this agreement goes through, he will be able to stay in London as he looks to get his job back. Good luck, I hope you do well there and I think you will. “
