Guess who’s back, too? Yes, that’s right, Scottie Scheffler, you want another one Sunday’s PGA Tour victory at the Charles Schwab Challenge comes nine days after his tie at the PGA Championship in Louisville. Scheffler has been one of the best players in recent memory over the past 18 months, and this weekend proved to be no different. A perfect 63 Saturday pushed him into sole possession of second place in the tournament, four off the mark set by current tournament leader Davis Riley.

Speaking of Riley, the former Alabama star played well all week at Colonial Country Club, scoring three straight in the mid-60s to push himself four shots off the field. Riley is looking for his second straight PGA Tour win this weekend, and his first in a solo tournament (his only other victory would come against friend Nick Hardy in the 2023 Zurich Classic.) He’ll have to do well in a field that includes Scheffler and young star Pierceson. Coody, the scion of Texas golf royalty, will try to charge on Sunday.
