There is a lot of speculation that the Brooklyn Nets are preparing to release some of their assets. It’s time for them to embrace a full rebuilding process after failed experiments with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden. One player who will receive a lot of interest on the trade market is Mikal Bridges. Bridges is a one-time star who is one of the strongest players in the league. He is a defensive wing capable of guarding some of the best perimeter players. With this in mind, there are at least three teams that could be good spots for the former Phoenix Sun.
Potential Trade Destinations for Brooklyn Nets Star, Mikal Bridges
Sacramento Kings
The Kings would be a good fit for Mikhal Bridges. Bridges may focus his efforts on the defensive end of the floor while De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis continue to flourish offensively. Sacramento has needed help defensively over the last few seasons and Mikal Bridges will quickly alleviate many of these concerns. Not to mention, it won’t be difficult to integrate him into Sacramento’s offensive scheme. Bridges shot 37.3 percent from three-point range during his tenure with the Nets.
Philadelphia 76ers
Bridges will form a solid three-star lineup alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. He will improve the 76ers defensively which is a scary thought when you consider that Joel Embiid is already providing solid rim protection averaging 1.7 career blocks per game. Tyrese Maxey also showed brilliance defensively. Although a player like Paul George or Jimmy Butler is a dream for the 76ers, they should not miss the opportunity to sell Mical Bridges. Also, Bridges is a Pennsylvania native which means this could be a homecoming for the former All-Defensive Team member.
Houston Rockets
If the Rockets want to continue adding talent that will help them win now, Mikal Bridges fits the bill. The Rockets just missed out on a chance to participate in the NBA Play-In tournament last year. However, they were a team that should not be ignored as they had a good start to the regular season. With talent like Fred VanVleet and Alperen Sengun, Mikhal Bridges will be a solid fit. Especially with his ability to guard multiple perimeter players and use his length to disrupt and contest shots. In addition, he and Dillon Brooks will be a duo that can be a nightmare to defend against opposing offenses. Considering all of this, one should not discount the Houston Rockets in the Mikal Bridges sweepstakes.
