Michael Kim, after going to prison, released himself through the hole of “criticism”.

“It’s like finding a needle in a haystack,” says announcer Mark Immelman.
Finally, Kim ho-hum split the Black Desert Resort par-5 18th hole. But in the 20 or so minutes before that in Thursday’s first round of the Black Desert Championship, there was a flurry of activity, including:

Still, there were problems.
His ball was in the downfield. Can he swing at his ball? Probably not. An unplayable break may be a game, and one penalty will be taken.

Or was an animal created? It is possible. If that’s the case, Kim would get relief from the emergency rule — without being held to account. He called the officer.
“I feel like there’s almost half the field [who] I wouldn’t even think of doing that,” said analyst Matt Every on PGA Tour Live radio.
— Telephone. A law enforcement officer arrived. He investigated, before contacting another officer via walkie-talkie for guidance.

The officer at the scene said: “Hey, you obviously know more about this place.” I think we have some critics wandering around this desert. … Some kind of animal burrows around these trees.”
Said the officer on the other end of the walkie-talkie: “Yes, we have…”
An officer at the scene said: “Yes, if I stick my finger, it will definitely go under.” There must be some kind of animal den, I think.”
– Decision. The adjournment was decided as a pit for animals, and relief was granted without penalty.
Said Immelman on PGA Tour Live: “This is a huge blessing.”
Wonke said: “Of course it is. Welcome to the rules of golf folks. You can drive it down the middle of the fairway into a divot and get no relief, then you can drive it to prison – a real prison – and get a free fall. What a game.”
Said Immelman: “I think it opens the case for knowing the rules.”
– Ball placement. After this decision, the stones were cleared, Kim was able to put his ball after attempts to throw it were unsuccessful.

Remarkably, Kim did. After tying the 18th and finishing with a three-under 68, he wrote:
“I am on my way to buy a lotto ticket…. I have a break today!”
