Problems arise in Sacramento for Kings coach Mike Brown

Kings coach Mike Brown could be the next victim of the NBA’s brutal coaching world, according to one insider.

The team in charge of Sacramento is reportedly not happy with the former Warriors assistant after his team failed to go to the playoffs, the Kings beat reporter James Ham.

“Brown backed up the first year with a 46-36 record in the second year, but the Kings fell short in the playoffs, falling in the second of two tournament games,” Ham wrote. “Failure to repeat last year’s success did not go down well with ownership, according to sources.

“This shouldn’t be a complicated issue, but like everything else in Sacramento, it is.”

Sacramento won fewer games than last season, but ended up in the Play-In Tournament against recent rival Golden State.

Although it couldn’t get past the Pelicans in the second playoff game.

Brown was named the league’s coach of the year last season, so if he stays with the team, a raise will be in the cards.

Especially considering what happened to other franchise coaches, Yahoo Sports‘ Jake Fischer recently reported.

“The result of [Los Angeles] The Lakers’ process, and this whole coaching cycle going on – which has already included the paydays of Jason Kidd and the rookies. [Phoenix] “Suns coach Mike Budenholzer – will also provide more context for Mike Brown’s contract extension negotiations in Sacramento,” Fischer said. “With Brown’s Coach of the Year credentials and new coaching salary caps after Monty Williams received $70-plus million in Detroit’s latest salary and Budenholzer’s $10 million salary, Brown’s negotiations are expected to focus on a common eight-person vision, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Tom Thibodeau’s extended number in New York, sources say, is expected to end at that ballpark.”
