Raphael Varane in talks with Inter Miami about a possible MLS move

David Beckham’s Inter Miami is in talks to sign Raphael Varane following the Frenchman’s departure from Manchester United, according to reports.

Varane left Old Trafford as a free agent at the end of last season, and is now exploring the next move in his career.

The former Real Madrid player made 95 appearances for the club and won the Carabao and FA Cup during his time at United.

Inter Miami talks to Varane

Varane has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League and a return to France, but is yet to make up his mind on his next move.

However, new reports have claimed that the defender is in talks with former United player Beckham, Inter Miami.

Beckham founded the MLS team six years ago and during that time they added many stars, especially former Barcelona players.

Varane is a free agent after leaving Old Trafford.

The Inter Miami team includes Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez and they are currently sitting at the top of the MLS Eastern Conference.

If signed, Varane will bring a wealth of experience to Miami’s backline as he spent ten years at Spain’s Real Madrid, and won the World Cup with France in 2018.

The 31-year-old is likely to have to take a pay cut when he joins to match the club’s salary cap, unless Inter Miami can release a designated player to replace the Frenchman.

Varane still has a lot to offer, and although his form has dipped towards the end of his time at United you can feel if he is fully fit he could shine in MLS.

United are in the market to strengthen their defense after Varane’s departure and are believed to be interested in Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice.
