Razzball Commenter Leagues, Week 7, 2024 Fantasy Baseball

With all the call-ups and rest, it makes me want to try next year by focusing only on the first ten rounds of the offense, catching a starter, and a million shortstops, and then just spread/catch prospects to fill out my roster. . Paul Skenes is the latest in an incredible drive. Not written in all RCLs, he could have everyone who puts the time right. I had him lined up for the clock, but he didn’t hit fast enough anywhere. I think he’s going to be a hot name on the trade block, much like Colton Cowser was. I will be curious to see his return in the coming weeks. We have eight trades this week with interesting names going around. We will include those and the weekly leaders of the existing church, the seventh week.
‘PERTY ‘PERTS
Each week we’ll take a peek at our residents to see who wants the best “professional” RCLer in the country. We’ll take notes, check postures and generally trap you. The article is also a link, so feel free to follow along as we go.
Remember two weeks ago when we joked that Gray was running in last place? Well, three weeks and 30.5 points later, Gray is 4.5 points out of first place! Kirksey lost 8.5 points this week to move back into the pack and Gray gained 13.5 to move up. Just twelve points separate 7th from first, and 28 from last, so things are tighter than Robbie Ray’s pants here.
RAZZSLAM STANDINGS UPDATE
Each week we’ll also look at the top ten standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers like you.
The top three remained unchanged this week, with most of the top ten standing with the exception of Ariel Cohen and Yancy Eaton who were not matched by Stephen Gesuele and Brent Franey. Matt Kupferle earned the most spots this week (87) for a league-leading 704 points.

Am I maybe a little nervous about Corbin Carroll? Maybe. Am I upset that Lodolo got fired and Carroll hit a homer the day after this trade went through? Definitely. Am I really confused as to why the A’s don’t play their best player every day? A LOT. I don’t want Carroll to have shoulder surgery, but I think the strength is there and even though I probably could have gotten more, I was ready to go.
Lots of closers going this week, which is normal and in almost every deal, I prefer to have closers. Closers gain value as we get closer to the deadline and I prefer to wait without being blown away. If you can steal for his closer Brent Rooker, who was there for free off waivers, that’s a win…as long as Estevez doesn’t screw up and lose his job.
CHURCH LEADERS

THE CHURCH GROUP
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it last week.
Team: Elvis oil
League: RCL 8
Stats: AVG: .252, R: 42, HR: 15, RBI: 48, SB: 7
IP: 86, ERA: 1.78, ERA: 0.988, K: 80, W: 10, SV: 2
Summary: The batting average leaves a little to be desired, but some of these numbers shine like Elvis’ body suit, especially those pitching numbers. How do you throw 86 innings and not have one blast-up? Well, Yu Darvish throws 12 shutout innings to start, Bailey Ober adds a win and 17 strikeouts with a 1.59/0.441 average, then Bryan Bello, Chris Paddack, Tarik Skubal, Gavin Stone , Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Luis Gil, Kyle Harrison are all selected. the higher you win. Not a bad start between them. Meanwhile, Ryan Jeffers will go nuclear, he and Ketel Marte hit 3 HRs this week and have 7 RBIs each. Last week fat Elvis sat in sixth place with just 59 points. After a great week, they now sit in fifth place with 70.5 points. It’s tough in RCL 8 where the top four teams have over 90 points, but more weeks like this will do Elvis good. Honestly, so is the salad. Good job, Elvis, keep it up!
